Energy Management Platform

One view of meters, generation and device health.

We are building software that brings readings from meters, solar, batteries and inverters into a single, clear view for operators — and, later, for their customers. This page sets out what we are building first, what depends on integrations and what comes later.

Illustrative operator dashboard

A design example using a fictional site. It shows the kinds of fields the platform could display — only fields available from a given integration would appear in practice.

“Device offline” means we have no recent data — not that the premises has no electricity. “No supply detected” means the meter is communicating but reports zero voltage.

Revenue visibility Planned

Prepaid sales, recharge transactions and reconciliation will appear here only when connected to the operator’s authorised billing or payment system.

No revenue figures are estimated from energy readings.

Capabilities in detail

  • Operator dashboards

    Initial focus · in development

A site-level and portfolio view of meters, communication status, consumption and open incidents, with filters by site and device.

  • Consumption monitoring

    Initial focus · in development

Energy in kWh and, where the meter reports them, power (kW), voltage (V) and current (A) — each with the timestamp of the last reading.

  • Generation monitoring

    Integration dependent

Generation from solar or other sources, available only where a generation meter or inverter integration provides it.

  • Battery telemetry

    Integration dependent

Battery state of charge (%) and charging state from supported battery or inverter systems.

  • Inverter telemetry

    Integration dependent

Inverter status, output and fault codes from supported inverters, subject to manufacturer data access.

  • Fault alerts

Initial focus · in developmentIntegration dependent

Alerts when a device stops communicating, and — where devices report them — for abnormal readings or device fault events. Alerts help investigation; they cannot guarantee every fault is detected.

  • Customer accounts

    Planned

Accounts that let an operator’s customers see their own balance, usage and history. See the Consumer Energy App.

  • Revenue visibility

    Planned

Prepaid sales, recharge transactions and reconciliation, drawn from the operator’s authorised billing or payment systems. Revenue metrics are kept separate from energy measurements and are never estimated from meter readings.

Data you can trust — and its limits

Show what the device provides

Metrics may include energy (kWh), power (kW), voltage (V), current (A), battery state of charge (%), connectivity and time of last reading. We display only the fields the selected integration actually supplies.

Offline is not the same as outage

A device that stops communicating is shown as offline with its last reading time. That is different from a meter that is communicating but reports no supply.

Missing data stays visible

Gaps in readings are marked as missing rather than filled in, so totals and trends are not mistaken for complete records.

A note on comparisons

The difference between generation and consumption is not, on its own, a measure of losses. Storage, export, time alignment and where meters are placed all affect it.

The planned operator and customer experiences

For operators

Start the day with a portfolio view: which sites are generating, which meters have stopped reporting and which incidents need attention. Drill into a site to see readings by device, then raise or update a support incident from the same screen. Reports summarise consumption, communication performance and incident handling for a chosen period.

For customers

Later, an operator’s customers could see their balance, daily use and transaction history, receive low-credit notifications and report a fault — through an app branded for the operator where white labelling is agreed. Availability depends on each operator’s systems and integrations.
